Feature request to the rating system

  • As already mentioned, I will use the program for competitions our Photo group(s). Therefore the rating system should allow rating only within one period per album.

    What is the process:
    1. photographers make an upload to an album. The display & control via the album widget of only their own photos.

    2. after the upload period is over, the album is published for rating.

    3. the group then has 7 days to rate.

    4. now comes my request:
    a) the rating of the photos in the album should not be possible after that, but as before, the ratings can be changed in this phase.

    b) nice tio have: The photos are numbered consecutively after the upload, the old name is hidden but not overwritten. So that one in the evaluation (I make I an export from the database) can assign the names again.
    In the moment no problem, I do this manually. But I have just a request about a greater competition with much more photos.

    As you can see the list is sorted by the ranking (and i won).

    If you like i could make it so that the admin can see it always, so you can see the scores when the rating is still going on, and the other users only when you change the shortcode.

    Yes, this looks very good, actually just like my pivot table.
    In the example the ranking is equal to the photo order.
    Can you make the sorting equal to the ranking, starting at the top with the winner?

    You mean that the sequence order of the photos in the album must be changed to be according to the total rating?
    Currently the list shows the winner on top etc.

    Sorry, no, that was a misunderstanding. If the winner is on top, then the runner-up and so on, that’s fine.

    At least for the current contest.

    However, i will change the layout a bit and probably make some changeable settings to make it more flexible and wider usable.

    At least i will add a thumbnail of the image and a link to the lightbox version of it.

    So, while working on it, the display on my dev site may be off sometimes.

    the new design looks much better. I also like the integration of the thumbnails.

    I will install it tonight, currently the first reviews are coming in and I don’t want to risk any interruptions.

    BTW: [wppa type="contest" album="13"] is visible for everybody
    [wppa type="contest" album="13" login="yes"] is visible for loggedin users only
    [wppa type="contest" album="13" login="admin"] is for your (admin) eyes only.

    The website is not public and only accessible to users.
    At the moment it is a service supplement for our main page and will perhaps replace this in the course of the year. I’m working on it and wanted to test the readiness of the members to what extent they accept the new tool and also actively participate in the design of the albums.

    The voting is still running until the end of the week and I therefore do not want to publish anything. Also because I have seen that other clubs in the area also use WPPA+ and maybe someone is reading ??

    The page with the evaluation is of course not visible for users and is located in a special admin area.

    I will gladly send you a screenshot/link via email if that is ok.
