I have moved from TablePress to Ninja Tables because Ninja Tables has more features and flexibility than TablePress in terms of what I need for my application.

One thing that would be really neat and convenient for me is to be able to edit the table fields using a text editor (e.g. TinyMCE) so that I could update the text with formatting that is required. For example, sometimes I need to include links in the cell. It would be nice to be able to do this without writing the code for it.

Ideally this would be able to be done from the frontend so that I could make updates quickly and easily — and almost in a “real time” sort of approach.

If this could be session-specific so that only authorized users could make the changes, that would be a great way to implement it. Unauthorized users would simply see the table in an un-editable (standard) view.

This is similar to the request seen here, but with the addition of the text editor part.

Hello @brettroby,
From Column settings you can make the data type as HTML then you will get html editor ( tinymce ) where you can add any type of table cell contents.

@techjewe, thanks for the prompt reply! It looks like I am only able to adjust the table’s header content using HTML editor. I am seeking the ability to enter and modify cell data with HTML.

If you could clarify where I might be mistaken, that would be appreciated.

Hi @brettroby,
From column configuration you can select the data type of any column. You have to select html as data type.

Thanks, @techjewel! I somehow missed that in your previous explanation. This is configured now on my table and it’s perfect.

Now if only we could do that on the frontend while logged-in as admin! ??
