• Background:
I am making a very large list of manual links that I want to use. I will only use manual links with direct links (natural links) to the items because I use SkimLinks.com for the affiliate system. So, the functionality of using Amazon ID/API is not relevant to me.

My website is English/Japanese bilingual. English keywords seem to be working fine, but Japanese keywords only work when the keyword is inside quotation marks.

Currently, the plugin will only replace full words, not part of words. A word end is considered when a space or punctuation mark is found. This is fine for languages like English, but in double-byte character languages such as Japanese there are no spaces between the words, so the keyword linking is not activating.

How can the script know when a word ends in Japanese ? If the script ignore spaces then it might end up putting links only on parts of words, or a link will start at the end of one word and continue to the second.

Good question. I guess you’ll need to do some research on parsing Japanese text. I’m sure somebody somewhere has published a solution to this issue online somewhere.
