Hi, thanks for a great plugin, just left a review. =)

I have a feature request for future versions: How ’bout adding separate hyphenation options for headings? Finnish language has super-long compound words that need to be hyphenated in titles and headings, but the settings I use for paragraphs hyphenate the headings too aggressively (i.e. they add too much hyphenation), making them look a bit silly.

Would it help if there were filter hooks the hyphenation parameters with some way to distinguish between headings and regular text?

While the basic implementation would probably not be too difficult, I worry about the user interface – there are quite a few settings related to hyphenation and UI is pretty cluttered already.

Hi pepe, thanks for the quick reply.

I share you concern with making the settings screen even longer. So, a way to set hyphenation options in the theme templates, for example, would work fine for me. Or whatever you think is a suitable solution. =)

Oh, I think I can do that. Either via a filter hook or via some settings call in your theme’s function.php.

I’ve added a Github issue to track this enhancement. Feel free to add further input there.

Excellent! Either way is fine with me. I’m subscribed to the issue now, looking forward to test it!

You will be able to disable filters for headings and provide your own settings programmatically in the upcoming version 4.0.0 of wp-Typography (the hooks to disable automatic filtering are already in 3.6.0, but the new Settings API will only be in 4.0.0).

Perfect! Looking forward to try this, thanks!
