• CFDB permission currently recognizes only the five roles defined by WP: Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, Subscriber. However we really need to work with more user roles. Not sure how the internals work, do the role plugins add to a “pool” of role names that CFDB might read/allow? Or maybe we could manually define in CFDB what the allowable roles are?

Currently, as an example, we pretend “contributor” really means “student” and “author” really means “assistant” and “editor” really means “teacher” + use a plugin to limit actual site capabilities = very messy and confusing.

Or maybe there is a workaround to this problem that I’m missing?

    Noticed some previous discussion here:

    Many thanks for CFDB!

Yes, this is a limitation in CFDB. It would be better if you could choose from available roles defined in WP. There is no other work-around right now.

    Dear Michael,

I would be interested in this feature as well; is it on your roadmap for a future version of the plugin ?

    Thanks
