• I’m 65 and have been working with computers since I was 18; back when they ran on vacuum tubes, “valves” for you Euros and IBM punch cards. I’ve been using WP for almost six years now.

If there is a shortcoming to WP, in my OPINION, it is the post editor. I run a site that is essentially a news portal which requires me to do all of the editing.

I upgraded to WP 3.4.1 yesterday which eliminated the quicktags/buttons I had set up. I couldn’t decipher the new quicktags.js file to manually modify it to my liking. Instead I found a plugin that restored SOME of my previous functionality.

At 65 my eyesight is deteriorating. I had to find/write a plugin to allow me to change the font size of the editor to something I could actually see without expanding the browsers font size.

The QT buttons save me hours each day in editing time.

I was wondering if it was possible to address the following in the form a “feature request”:

    1. An easy to use font size option for the post editor.
    2. An easy to use background color changer for the post editor.
    3. An easy to use post editor quicktag-button modifier, at least for the HTML editor.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  • You can change the font size & background color using CSS delivered by a simple plugin. I’ve hacked a simple plugin that allows me to customise the quicktags if you want a copy.

esmi, Thank you for your kind offer. Yes, I would be interested. I do hope that the development team will consider implementing those options as a feature in the future.

    Thanks,
