• I wonder if you could add a feature to this plugin that would alert site administrators (i.e. those with the manage_plugins capability) using an admin notice that their using a plugin that a network administrator has marked deprecated using your plugin?

I imagine that such a thing might be available from the manger page as a new option in the select-element for each plugin. Deprecated plugins should be hidden from the list of available plugins for all sites that haven’t activated them, and for those which have them activated, they see an admin notice informing them of the deprecation.

    Thanks!

Interesting, though specific idea. What’s wrong with just deleteing the plugin if you don’t want someone using it anymore?

With a Network of over 1200 sites, it would take us quite some time to try and swap plugins and repair any settings or display issues so we’re hoping to try and find something to help warn site owners about impending changes empowering them to deal with things and saving us time and work. We already use your plugin to hide the deprecated plugins from sites not already using it, but we’d like a way to tell those who are using it that it’s going to go away and to contact us if they have questions. If you’re not interested in the feature, no worries. We can probably add it ourselves with our own plugin since it is likely to be a outlaying case.
