• Hello WordPress,
I’m requesting the ability to arrange the position of multiple plugins which display above and below posts and pages.

An example from my blog.. At the top of each post I have a facebook like button and a star-rating plugin. Currently the facebook button is being displayed above the ratings plugin. I would like the ability to arrange the ratings plugin to be above the facebook button.

The same can be said for plugins which display below posts.

    Thank you!

    Generally this is handled by

    1) The plugin itself
    2) The theme you’re using

Neither can be controlled by WordPress itself in order to give you more flexibility.

Well, someone somewhere should fix this somehow…. It’s quite irritating to not be able to customize my wordpress site the way I want it….

As Ipstenu explained, it’s not broken.

Okay, “FIX” wasn’t the right word.. *eye roll*

All I’m saying is that the ability to rearrange plugins SHOULD BE POSSIBLE. It’s insane to not be able to customize the positioning of plugins… See ANY OTHER CMS out there… Plugins can be rearranged as needed.

So again, FEATURE REQUEST.. This isn’t an outrageous request…

It may well be possible if each of the plugins have the relevant filters. But this would be handled by the theme – not WP core.

It is possible. I do it all the time. Provided the plugin is written to be able to do it.

It’s not WordPress core code, it’s your plugin being annoying. Which sucks, I agree, but it’s outside WP’s ability to control.
