Feature Request – page draft/publish mode please

  • I’ve seen this asked for a couple of times. I love the Page feature in WP15, but I would really like to be able to have them in Draft mode and not Publish immediately.

    Someone also mentioned having them Private too… which I like the idea of.

  • The way I do this at the moment is to create a page called (for example) “drafts” at root level that is excluded from any wp_listpages calls
    I then make any pages I want to be draft have a parent of the “draft” page, this hides them from the public (as they are not linked) but I can see them to check them out for formatting, by accessing them directly.
    When you are ready to publish the page, just change it’s parent to whatever page you like and it appears.
    OK it’s not perfect, as anybody CAN see the pages if they ‘hack’ about, but it allows you to create pages before you publish them.
