Feature request: option to remove 'Announcement' title

If I’ve understood another thread correctly, it’s an intended feature of the plugin that announcement posts now add the word ‘Announcement’ into the post title, and it was a bug that this didn’t show before.
In that case, I’d like to make a feature request: an option to turn this on or off. I certainly don’t want it, and it would save us having to edit the plugin every time we update it on any site.
