• The present version of WordPress allows users to designate how many posts are shown on the front page of their blog. This is carried on for Archive and Category searches. When a user designates 5 posts for the front page, the archives and category searches reflect the same number.

As both archive and category searches come up with an abbreviated version of the final post this takes up considerably less space on the screen, but can be very limiting.

Feature Request: Change the backend template to include separate values for Front Page and for Searches.

This will allow users to designate a set number for front page and a different set number for search results. For example; 10 posts front page, 20 posts for search / archive / category / tag.

    Viki.
