[Feature request] Minify and Merge wp-admin scripts and styles

    Hi,
    I wish to ask if it is possible to extend mmr functionality to the wordpress backend, so that scripts and style of the dashboard could be minfied and merged.
    When you have a large number of plugins activated, could be hard to load every script and style on each page load. This will increase a lot the load speed when navigating the wordpress admin area.

    Hi,

    This is something we did try when we were developing MMR and it was more trouble than it was worth. The reason is WordPress already does its own merging of files in the admin and we found re-compiling the assets didn’t have much of a saving and also often failed. We decided its best to ignore the admin and only apply MMR for the frontend.
