Feature request Jetpack: Publicize Google

    I’d like to see the possibility of publicizing with Google+ also, just like with facebook, tublr, linkedin and twitter.
    Also, I would like to be able to add multiple sources for one social media to publicize in. For example: my facebook profile, facebook group and facebook page.
    Hope it’s not too big of a job.

  • Google+ cannot be added to Jetpack’s publicize feature. It’s not possible – Google does not offer an API to publish to Google+, there is no way to send posts yet, if there were, a plugin would exist by now.

    Thank you both for the info and response. I was just missing it and didn’t know why. Not too bad, it’s not hard to click share, but would be nice to have it there once it’s possible.

    What about connecting multiple facebook sources? Profile, page and group? Is that in plan too or do you consider it an overkill?

    Jetpack doesn’t allow you to publicize to multiple pages from a single account, but you can add a new connection, to a new Facebook account, to work around the problem.

    Start by going to Facebook, and log out of your account. Log back in with another Facebook account, listed as an admin on your Facebook Page. You should then be able to go back to Settings > Sharing in your dashboard, and click on “Add a new Connection” to create a new Publicize connection.

    Is there any chance that Jetpack – publicize would be able to post to facebook groups instead of pages?

    I don’t think that Facebook offers any ways to post to Facebook Groups via an external app. I might be wrong through; if you find a way to do it, do not hesitate to point me to an app that allows you to do that. I’ll be happy to have a look and see if we can implement something similar in Jetpack!
