the date picker in the calendar is currently not very intuitive.
As an improvement, i would suggest letting the customer set his desired period in one window. Eg. Customer clicks on “from date” and rather closing the window and having the customer select “to date” in the next window, it would be more intuitive to select the period just in one window, with a second click on the date, like in most other booking systems.

    Hi,

Thanks for your messages. Feature requests are always welcome, but this forum is not the right place to report us the features you would like to see implemented in our plugins. We kindly ask you to rather use our website where you will be followed by any of our team members.

We want topics in this forum to be marked as resolved for any kind of requests, and so keeping a list open for feature requests is not something feasible. You should get in touch with our team in this case (thank you!).

Regarding your feature request related to the datepicker calendars: that makes sense, you would like to have a “date-range picker” rather than just a “date picker”. However, there’s a reason why we have implemented a “date picker”, and that’s because WordPress ships with jQuery UI. This means that the jQuery UI Datepicker is available as a native JS library on any WordPress installation.
If we wanted to implement a “date-range picker” then we would need to code and maintain our own JS library, which may need other dependencies subjected to changes from one WordPress version to another.
This wouldn’t be a great idea, especially in terms of security and maintenance. In fact, WordPress itself declares as mandatory to always rely on the native core libraries when they are available, and this is the case of jQuery UI. As you probably understood already, jQuery UI only supports a “date picker”, it is not possible to select a range of dates within the same calendar (by default, but extending a core library would lead to the maintenance issues explained above).

In any case, we will definitely consider your feature request for the future.

For any other technical questions or feature requests we kindly ask you to not use this forum as it is not checked by all our team members. Thanks for your understanding.

    Best regards,
    The VikWP Team
