    Hi!

    I’ve been using your plugin for a while now, and it works really well!

    I’ve been looking at the list of supported plugins in the Extended version and the only one I’m missing is the Brevo Newsletter plugin, which allows you to create signup forms for your newsletters.

    One feature that plugin misses is a way to add a Honeypot to the signup forms. So, it’d be awesome if your plugin would support that, or you could take a more generic approach and add a shortcode which could be added anywhere?

    Anyway, perhaps some ideas ??

    Kind regards,

    Daan van den Bergh

    Hi Daan,

    Thank you for you suggestion. However, just adding the shortcode won’t work here. Shortcode can add fields in the forms, but we also need to check the form submit. In this case, we must use some actions and hooks.

    I have added this in our integration list and will try adding in future release.

    Thanks

    Right! Sorry, I forgot about that.

    I’ve looked for filters in that plugin to block submission, but unfortunately, couldn’t find any.

    Thanks for your swift response!

    The official Brevo plugin sadly doesn’t have any hooks or filters to do that.

    I asked them to add a honeypot or the filter:

    Maybe support this request to give it more weight

    Eventually I did find a way to add my own honeypot: https://github.com/Dan0sz/mailin-honeypot

    Dear Daan,

    thank you very much for your interim solution!

    Can you still say after two months that it works?

    Cheers!

    Unfortunately the plugin did not work for me. Fake e-mail addresses could still be entered.

    @michael-luther ,

    Honeypot stops submission that are initiated by spam submissions. So it doesn’t check fake email address if they are submitted manually.

    Thanks

    @dnesscarkey

    The website I was concerned with had around 1200 attempted newsletter entries with fake emails in the last two months. These entries were certainly not made manually.

    In the meantime, the issue has unfortunately not been solved in a data protection-friendly way with reCaptcha.

    A honeypot ensures that automated spam attempts are blocked. Unfortunately, Dan’s plugin did not do this, because automated entries continued to come through.

    Have a nice Weekend!

    @michael-luther ,

    We recently added support for Mailin ( Brevo ), i think about 3 weeks back. So i think you were using Daan’s solution.

    Mailin ( Brevo ) support is available in latest version of Wp Armour Extended.

    Thanks
