We’re using this plugin to be able to track users’ changes whether or not they know or understand Git. We might have a user who modifies css on the dev server, another who might install a plugin. Both can sync their changes to the remote repo using this plugin, but the problem becomes that in the repo the changes are both listed as the same user (whatever is in the Git Username field). Is there a way to select the Git user based on the WordPress user info?

    Hello,

This is currently a feature that’s in development and will be included in the next release. With the new setup, the git username and email will set automatically to the current user’s WordPress username and email address (there will still be an option for the default username and email address for automated actions like backups).

I’ll update this thread once that functionality has been released. Please let me know if you have any other questions or feedback in the meantime, thanks!

I would also be super happy about this feature. Any idea on when the next update will be out?

    Hi Felix,

Likely within the next few weeks. I’ll keep you posted!

next few weeks can be quite a long time ??
Anyway, I will most probably give it a try and hope I can sot out the different users by the way they commented the commits.

    Thanks for the fast answer!
