First off, I love the plugin and have been experimenting with it. It’s very useful and helpful.

However, I think there’s an opportunity to make it much more useful. Back in October the U.S. Copyright Office launched a new registration process for blogs. Unfortunately, it kind of sucks.

Instead of uploading an RSS feed or a single PDF, we have to upload 1 PDF per post (in a zip file because it’s 2021). However, PMG only produces a single PDF file. I can split it apart by hand, but that’s a lot of work, especially considering that they have to be retitled too.

Is there a way to use PMG to print individual files (likely PDFs) and give them file names that match the title of the post? For example, if I have an article entitled “My Birthday Party” it would be “my birthday party.pdf”.

This could save a LOT of work for bloggers and greatly help with registering blog content. Thank you for your time and attention.

Hi @plagiarismtoday, thanks for sharing your insights.
Print My Blog can print posts individually, but it’s still a bit tedious. If you add print buttons to your posts, “Print”, “PDF” and “eBook” buttons will appear when viewing the post from the frontend of your website. When you click one of those it takes you to a print-page for just that post.

This video is about adding print buttons

And yes, the PDF’s name will be based on your post’s title.

But no, there’s no way to ask Print My Blog to print many posts into separate PDFs. I can see how that would be really helpful for using the U.S. Copyright’s website; otherwise registering hundreds of posts would be a major chore.

Currently Print My Blog relies on the browser to create the PDFs, so adding that feature doesn’t currently seem possible. I’m making a Pro version that instead uses a web service to create the PDFs, so this feature would be possible with that, but it wouldn’t be free and it wouldn’t be available for quite a long time.

    Does that make sense?

Anyways, I’ve made a GitHub issue to track demand for this feature: https://github.com/mnelson4/printmyblog/issues/185

I think I’m going to mark this as “resolved” in that I’ll be tracking interest and will start developing once I have some time available for it.

Thanks for the suggestion @plagiarismtoday ! Feel free to reopen if you like.
