Feature Request: Container behaving like WP Group block
-
I am finding myself using the WP Group block instead of GB Container in some situations because it has a couple of neat features that make it quicker (and dare I say, more intuitive) to use
First, anytime you highlight multiple blocks in Gutenberg there is an option to “Group” them inside a WP group block. It would be nice to be able to “Contain” them like this in a GB container block instead.
Even more convenient IMO is the ability to “Ungroup” a WP Group which removes the container but leaves the content in place. It would be great if this ability could be added to the container block (and possibly to the Grid block too), because moving the content out of these containers is rather tedious.
Even better than simply deleting the container block would be the ability to empty out the content while keeping the Container block (so the settings are not lost)
Would it be possible to make it so that the bottom edge of the container block outline could be “grasped” (clicked and held) then dragged up or down (a bit like the dotted selector in PowerPoint) so that blocks can be added and removed from the group. I don’t understand exactly how blocks work, but the effect would be just to move the <!– /wp:generateblocks/container –> position up and down in relation to other blocks.
