Paid customer but didn’t want to clog the support channel with a feature request.

I’ve looked through documentation, Customizer, and code, and it appears that captions are not available for Featured Images. Any chance of enabling that in a future release?

It’s often necessary to credit images if the license requires it and this would be a big help in remaining in compliance.

    Many thanks!

Hello, I can’t do this by default but you can do it by adding “500” in the excerpt field in Blog > Blog Entries and add the “more” tag to your post content to have the excerpt.

Hi, thanks for your reply but I’m not sure I see the connection between the “more” tag and image captions. Maybe I wasn’t clear.

For all images, if enabled, the caption will appear under the image if the image is added to the body of a page or post. I’m asking if it could be possible to add the caption to a featured image as well. If an image is added as featured in a post, the caption does not appear.

    Example:

    —————————-

    IMAGE

    —————————-
    This is the image caption

Hello, yes, I understood, but it is not possible by default, what you need to do to display the caption on your featured images for your blog is to put the excerpt in the Blog > Blog Entries section of the customizer to 500, that will display all your post content and the caption on your images, then if you want to display only an excerpt, you will need to add the more tag.

I see what you mean now, but I’m referring to the single post page, not the blog roll.

Ooooh, sorry I had misunderstood ??
I will try to see if I can do it for single post and also for blog entries.
