Feature request: automatic link detection and formatting

Sorry I could not find a proper page to post this request, but this one. I know you can add HTML fields to tables. However, it would be relatively easy to implement automatic link formatting, so if an end user posts a HTTP or MAILTO link, it would appear automatically formatted as such at the front end. Currently, the user is forced to use the editing console, equating to zero links posted. Thanks.
