    Hi Stefano,

We’ve been using your plugin on every website we make in the past two years or so. We love how simple it is to install and configure. But there is one thing we’re missing: the option to auto-generate cached versions of posts, pages and other post types. Here’s why:

Many of our customers have low-traffic B2B websites. Because the traffic is so low, many pages have not been cached when somebody (or a search robot) visits that page for the first time.

We have tried to set ‘cached pages will be valid for’ to infinite. But this is far from ideal. When i.e. a widget changes many admins forget to clear the cache, so the old version of the widget remains visible until somebody does clear the cache. And if somebody finally does clear the cache, we have to go over every page and post to manually generate the cached versions.

Until now we used the ‘generate cache’ plugin for this, but it hasn’t been updated for over 3 years and it doesn’t work well anymore on the latest versions of WordPress.

Have you ever considered building this into the hyper cache plugin?

    Kind regards,
    Leon

Hi, but why you should have all the pages precached? And not cached on the fly?

What do you mean by ‘cached on the fly’? Do you mean when a user visits a page for the first time after the cache is expired?

The speed difference on low resource hosting between a cached and a non-cached page is huge (around 400%). If a website doesn’t have much traffic a high percentage of visitors and crawlers will see a (slow) page with expired cache.

We would like all the pages to be pre-cached, so that 100% of the visitors have the speed benefit of the cached version.

Hi, ok, understood, anyway the plugin has not a precaching system, you should try to stay with generate cache, even if old it only has to scan the site (probabibly creating more server load than needed bu at least precaching pages). You should consider if the server become slow because of the precaching plugin.

Allright. So no plans to include this feature in Hypercache someday?
