Feature Request: Apply different fields to variations?

Would it be possible to have different field groups apply to different variations of a product?

For example:

Teddy Bear –

Variation 1: Name only
Variation 2: Name, Date Of Birth, Weight

If the customer selects variation 1 then the field group with only a text field should appear.
If they select variation 2 then a different field group with multiple items appears

I’m sure you like a challenge ??
