Feature request – add comments or titles to recipe steps

    When creating a complex recipe, it is easy to lose track of what each step is doing, particularly when the meat of it is hidden behind something generic like ‘set user meta’.

    It would fantastic if there were an editable title or comment field for each step in a recipe, which is visible in the recipe overview. I’m thinking it would be quite short, for use with comments like, ‘Set renewal date’ or ‘Reformat the date to Unix timestamp’.

    They developers of Zapier have done something similar (although the Automator plugin has the edge over them in most respects ?? )

    Apologies for the delay, and thanks for the suggestion!

    We fully agree here and this will be something we tackle in Q3. I’m not sure whether it will initially target all object types in a recipe, or whether we’ll add more basic note fields, but we’ll add something to make keeping track of things a bit easier.

    We’ll tentatively set this as closed, since we have captured your request and vote, but we will provide an update once this has been made available.
