Feature request: Ability to actually edit inbound messages

I would love it if the ‘edit’ feature in inbound messages worked as an actual edit form. Currently I just get to view the record, not actually edit it.

Looking to pass a hidden field, set to the value of Open. Then when my users see a message with that flag, they can deal with it and then edit that message so that field says Closed.

Any chance of this kind of functionality getting added?
