• I would like a feature where I could assign a specific folder to a specific user. For Example, I would like to assign the folder “/wp-content/uploads/conservation” to user “Mary” and “Mike”. The “admin” user I want to stay at the default.

Another possible feature (I think this one would be hard!) is to assign a certain folder to all the media depending on the (custom) post type. I have a few custom post types like “conservation-news” and “conservation-events” that I want all media to go to “/wp-content/uploads/conservation”.

    Hi Tim,
Just to make sure I understand you

    you would like:

    “/wp-content/uploads/conservation”

    to this

    “/wp-content/uploads/“Mary” and “Mike”/conservation”

    correct?

No I think he was asking that the folder
    “/wp-content/uploads/conservation”
to be assigned to 2 different users.

The second feature he suggested and to which I added my vote also was to assign a given folder (“/wp-content/uploads/conservation”) to certain custom types.

John is absolutely correct on both counts!

I want to assign the same folder “/wp-content/uploads/conservation”
to 2 or more different users.

The second feature is to assign a given folder “/wp-content/uploads/conservation” to certain custom post type.

I profit from this discussion started by Tim to add another related idea: exclude specific users/roles from custom folders.

My idea is that sometimes you want some users, mainly the admin, to continue to upload at main content folder, while other users, such as clients, use custom folders.

So, to summarize: an option to just exclude user categories/roles.
    Example: exclude admins.
