• Hi, first of all, thank you for such a wonderful theme, it is one of the best ad optimised themes.

But here I am having one issue. Colormag scales default featured image size is 800×445 px. So if we add an image greater than this, then it will just crop out the 800x445px part and display as the featured image.

But is there anyway, that instead of cropping it scales down to 800×445 because cropping removes many important ends from an image.

Google Discover and Google News always require high-quality images, which is why we have to display more width x height image.

If it scales down, then this will be a great benefit for all those who are having issues with cropping.

    Thank You.

  • Hello @qph9697
Instead of cropping could you try resizing the images to the required scale as that ensures the content of your image remains intact whilst reducing its scale. Let me know if this helps with your issue else inform me further regarding this.

Hi, but how to make colormag resize/rescale my image to the desired featured image size set in colormag.

As I am using AMP, it required a featured image of minimum 1200px wide, for my post to be displayed on google discover. And this is the reason why I cannot manually rescale my image before adding on my post. I have to compulsory add a 1200px wide image. But since colormag crops this image, many of the contents on the image is lost.

    Here is an example,
    https://ibb.co/ZH6f533 – Original Image That I added
https://ibb.co/94DJnnN – Image Cropped by Colormag

So how can I make sure that instead of cropping, colormag rescales the image?

Is there any script or anything that can help me in this?

    Hi @qph9697
Sorry for the late reply ??
You can do this customize work via the child theme. For more information, you can refer to the link present here: https://themegrill.com/blog/tutorial-creating-wordpress-child-theme/
I hope this helps and let me know for any further queries!
