    Hi,

I am new to website design. I was really impressed with the simplicity of twenty twenty theme and decided to finally dive into the deep end to design a website. I have run into a couple of issues with the feature image and the different page templates.

I originally used the “cover template” as using the featured imaged gave me the desired look of a banner at the top of my page. But when I went to add content to the actual page, I decided that the narrowness of the template was too restrictive.

I then went to the full width template and discovered it totally changed my featured image. Despite googling CSS code, I couldn’t get the featured image to appear in the same way that it does in the cover template. I also couldn’t get the title of the page to appear below the featured image. What is the best way to achieve a big banner featured image and to have a wide page?

I’m working offline so best I can do is images:

Hi, just so I understand….based off of those 2 images, you want the design to look like the overall layout of the 2nd image. Yet, you want the image with 2 faces to spread across the entire width of the browser and also have the ‘Sample ‘Page text show up below that area in the white part of the page?

    Yes that’s correct.

Did you upload a smaller image on the full width template as the featured image? The full width template will display the full width of the image, so if you upload an image 1200px wide, it will display the image as full width until you get past 1200px wide then it starts to show the background content.

Regarding the page/post title, do you want just the title below the featured image or the other post meta information such as the date/category/comments/etc? If so, do you still want the pink background area to show but at a smaller overall height?

Depending upon if you just want to move the title or the metadata as well may be a bit more difficult using CSS and not modifying the template directly.
