Feature Disabled (Not .htaccess file??))

  • – clean install of wp2.1 on server. Disabled plugins 1st, deleted all my SQL DB’s and started from scratch. Before I began I had an .htaccess file. On re-install, I didn’t see it.
    – when initially trying to connect to https://www.cllucas.com, page displays a “wordpress feature disabled” error page. Refresh and it loads fine.
    – loaded fine in IE7.0
    – I’m scared to monkey with giving overall file permissions across teh board, (I did that once and had to go back to ground zero)
    – where is the best source for the .htaccess?
    – what file permissions do I need to allow for the best results?
    – I am also running wp-cach ((additionally, I had to do the third 2.1 install b/c the website loaded EXCESSIVELY slow and the support/codex had ZERO relative advice.
