Featherlight stopped lightboxing

  • All I’ve ever used Featherlight for is (basically) to enlarge embedded images. It’s always worked great for that. But somewhere between updating our blog to WP 5.7 and updating jQuery from a legacy WP version to the current default, Featherlight stopped working. Now clicking on an image takes you to the image, instead of opening it in a lightbox over the page.

    I tried a few similar plugins, which were all overkill for what I need or want. One, Responsive Lightbox & Gallery, includes Featherlight as an option for choice of lightbox. Choosing featherlight didn’t work through RL&G, either, though choosing Magnific Popup did (if that tells you anything). But I would prefer not to.

    I would really rather use your simple plugin rather than a two-ton elephant with a can opener for one arm and a blowtorch for the other. I mean, Featherlight does one thing (for me) and does it well. I don’t need any bells, whistles, or blowtorches.

    If you can point me at a setting I can tweak, or tell me that you’ve got an update pending, that’d be great.
