  • My FB Api is up to date. What I noticed last night was that the post was correct in FB when I published immediately, but not when I scheduled it for a future time/date.

I debugged, previous postings, sometimes had to debug 2 or 3 times to get FB to recognize the post in the method I wanted it posted.

Anyone else missing their “short link” button when you try to schedule as opposed to publishing immediately?

Whatever is going on started around May 5th.

Is anyone else getting this and how do i go about fixing it?
    Thanks.

The Facebook plugin(s) might cause issues when used in conjunction with Yoast WordPress SEO.
Both WordPress SEO by Yoast and Facebook create OpenGraph output, which might make Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social networks use the wrong texts and images when your pages are being shared.

We recommend you deactivate Facebook and have another look at your WordPress SEO configuration using the button above.

Both WordPress SEO by Yoast and Google XML Sitemaps can create XML sitemaps. Having two XML sitemaps is not beneficial for search engines, yet might slow down your site.

Not getting that message, but I have had to resort to publishing the post – and then going over to FB Debugger and rescraping both the actual post URL and then rescraping the permalink url a few times to get it to recognize the large sized graphic that I want shared.

I replicated the problem in a website without my “next scripts” posting plugin, so it’s not their problem. Something is getting lost in the transmission from wp posting to FB. It used to be there, now it’s not.

    Forkster,

I wonder if we’re the only ones running the Facebook plugin AND WordPress SEO by Yoast. I wonder if our particular issue with getting that error message needs its own thread.

My problem is that I WANT both of those plugins, and yet Yoast doesn’t like the Facebook plugin and puts that message up (i.e., “The Facebook plugin(s) might cause issues when used in conjunction with Yoast WordPress SEO.”)

I think the Facebook plugin has fallen through the cracks, i.e., it’s no longer supported by Facebook(?), but mine still works, and I can usually compromise with the image that FB grabs (I hard-coded a default image into my child theme’s header.php)

So, my issue is mostly that the error message Yoast pops up there when I go to the plugins page doesn’t have an option to dismiss it.
