Favicon only appears on admin pages…?

  • I have specified a path to a favicon.ico in my header template.

    However the icon only appears properly in the address bar when in admin pages.

    It appears in the address bar of the front end for half a second but then disappears again.

    Any ideas?

    just add the
    <link rel=”Shortcut Icon” href=”/favicon.ico”>

    under

    <?php wp_head(); ?>
