Favicon Not Showing Up

Hi I’m fairly inexperienced on WordPress and I’m having difficulty getting my favicon to change. The Dustland theme makes it seem pretty simple in the customization area. I uploaded the image but I’m still seeing the Host Gator alligator as my icon in the tab. Am I missing some necessary steps? All the research I’ve done has given me really complicated solutions that don’t involve the Dustland uploader. Any help is appreciated.
