    Hi Forum.

I had installed a theme and added a favicon, I can see it on my url but now that I have uninstalled the theme, its still there. How can I remove it?

    thank you.

  • open your website , click right mouse button and select view source. when source opens press control+f key for search and search for word favicon. you should have the path of your favicon there.

normally the favicon is given in header.php but i think some plugins can do that too so do check if you have any such plugin activated.

    Hi Lilaz.

I looked at my website source, nothing is there.
the theme I had used was called:

    Intro Version: 1.06
    By aThemes

    Any other suggestions?!

can you include a link to your site, so that others can see the problem?

I have activated a plugin called: under construction, there is no website at the moment cos Im practising & and learning website. I can see the favicon from my dashboard. but I dont think you will see it in your URL bar.

first of all , logout from website. clean browser cache and try loggin in again. it can be picking from cache.

have you removed theme files from your website? login to ftp and do so.

Helpful answer Laliz. I cleared my browsers cached images and its not longer there.

regarding theme file, its still in my themes but not activated. What I cant understand regarding themes, Im following a tutorial where it says all themes get installed in wordpress folder. But 2 themes so far are not in my wordpress folder.

    Thank you.
