    favicon.ico has been uploaded via ftp to the root folder as well as the themes main folder. The following was placed in the header.php file between the <head></head> markers:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/favicon.ico" />

    The page source says it’s looking for it in the correct place:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="https://acropolisspacecenter.com/wp-content/themes/mantra/favicon.ico" />

    I cleared my cache and it’s still not appearing. The favicon.ico was made correctly. Done it several times before, but not for a wordpress site. The site url is https://www.acropolisspacecenter.com

    Let me know if you have any advice!

    Was appearing in Safari, but not Firefox.
    Installed a favicon plugin to see if it would detect my root file. It did. Then it worked. Deleted the plug in and refreshed and the favicon appeared in all browsers.
