Favicon in admin is not the same as front page favicon

  • In the admin or Dashboard of WordPress another favicon of an earlier theme is somehow shown. On the front page it is the correct one. Where is the admin favicon coming from?????

    I removed all favicons.ico as I use favicon.png for the site. Now the admin shows no icons at all. Is this normal?
