    That would mean that your site’s favicon is only declared in meta data within the theme. When you directly load a media file, the theme of course isn’t loaded, so no meta data and therefore no favicon.

    Most browsers look for a file called favicon.ico in the root domain of the site (so, freefutures.org/favicon.ico), as a backup when the meta data isn’t found, like when loading a media file directly.

    There are other files that they look for too, which is why I highly recommend https://realfavicongenerator.net/

    Just give them an image, and they will convert it to every possible file type, size, and name that a browser would look for when hunting for favicons. Just upload those to the root domain, and you should be good to go, though you may need to clear your browser’s cache to see any difference.
