    Hello,

I bought the paid pro version of the Minimal Coming Soon – Coming Soon Page plugin, and it created a favicon issue that has persisted for weeks despite many attempts at correcting the issue.

When I activated the “coming soon mode”, the plugin decided to use its own favicon as my website’s favicon. Google then indexed this favicon and it seems there is no way to remove it now, or to have Google reindex it. To be clear: Web browsers will display my own favicon correctly, but Google search results wont, no matter what I try. In a way, the “coming soon” favicon seems to override mine when search engines attempt to determine what favicon to use for indexing.

I have tried, to no avail:

    1. Changing the favicon on my wordpress theme.
    2. Changing the favicon on the Minimal Coming Soon – Coming Soon Page plugin, leaving it “activated” for a week, and asking Google to reindex the page twice during that time, to forget the website, to recrawl the website, and to clear the snippet.
    3. Following all of google instructions to the letter regarding favicon indexing, and then asking for reindexing.
    4. Adding a dedicated html page for my favicon and making sure it is setup as the website’s official and only favicon.
    5. Uninstalling the Minimal Coming Soon – Coming Soon Page plugin and asking Google for reindexing.
    6. Reinstalling the free version of the Minimal Coming Soon – Coming Soon Page and repeating some of the steps above with this version instead.

I understand the issue lies both with Google and with Minimal Coming Soon – Coming Soon Page, but Minimal Coming Soon – Coming Soon Page should probably not attempt to use its own favicon in any fashion on its customers’s website to begin with. Whatever the plugin’s strategy for replacing the favicon was, it seems that this replacement is more permanent than it should be, and very hard to override or to deactivate.

What can be done to fix this problem, and to have my own favicon set up in a way that it will prevail over all previous favicons, including that of the Minimal Coming Soon – Coming Soon Page plugin, in such a way that my favicon (and not someone else’s) will be indexed correctly by search engines?

    Thank you in advance,

Hi, thank you for purchasing. Sorry to hear you’re having problems.

This looks like something that could be solved with Google Search Console, by requesting Google to re-index the site and by doing that refreshing cache.

Unfortunately, we can’t provide support for the PRO version in this forum. Please contact us via email or the contact widget in the plugin for further details. Thank you for understanding.
