I updated my fav icon and Apple favorites / touch 144px icon in WordPress a few days ago. Cleared WP cache and Safari browser cache completely, restarted my iPhone even. Still shows old touch icons in favorites page.

I also deleted them, re-added them and still the old ones. How do I fix this?

The best way to handle the icons is to upload a single image file of about 512px square in the customizer instead of uploading individual icon files. WP will generate the necessary images and header info.

Thank you but I’ve already done that and I see it but it shows the new image not the old one. However on my iPhone it still shows the old one in Safari.

Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks.

    I see <link rel="shortcut icon" href="https://www.logicweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"/><link rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed" href="https://www.logicweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/logo.png">

    That’s https://i.imgur.com/0eALXFY.png

Anyhow, is that the image you want?

Correct but in Apple favorites on my iPhone, the old blue logo shows up. I have already cleared my browser cache.

I have found the caching on my phone to be particularly aggressive. If you use a different browser (e.g., Chrome instead of Safari), do you see the right one? Since I see the right one on my phone and my desktop, it’s likely that theres something cached somewhere.

Works in edge browser but not Safari. I’ve deleted the favorite, hard closed the browser, cleared cache and tried again.

When I attempt to add as a favorite I see the new one, favicon but then the old Apple touch icon.
