• I just completed a manual upgrade to 2.9 and accidentally deleted some files, I believe, for my Dashboard now looks like this. ??

How can I get my dashboard back?

Any help would be appreciated. I suspect it has something to do with the wp-content folder because I believe the files were deleted from there.

  • wp-content folder holds the themes, plugins, uploads (Media) folders. If your dashboard is looking like that, it’s more of needing to re-upload WordPress files and folders like wp-admin and wp-includes. But I really hope you didn’t delete the uploads folder ….

is there a way to reinstall WordPress without clearing my database tables?

“reinstall WordPress without clearing my database tables”
When you don’t want to clear database tables, reinstalling WordPress takes the form of re-uploading WordPress files and folders.

But since you’ve already reuploaded WordPress files and folders, did you deactivate all plugins and then run https://yoursitename.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php ? Then activate plugins one by one. It may well be an incompatible plugin that’s causing the funky behavior in your admin section.
