    thats the message i received.

This latest update 0.9.5 is affecting everyone. This plugin seems difficult to remove or fix and I am trying all the tricks in the book! While the front end of our website seems ok, the backend is a mess! Can’t update anything and can’t access the plugin page!

Update – I removed some W3 code from the wp-config file and I got the plugin page back, but still having partial issues with updating pages or posts. They do update, but you get this error page first –

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /wp-content/db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /wp-content/object-cache.php.

After updating my site gave error 500.
    In the logs:
Fatal error: Class ‘W3_Config’ not found in /wp-content/plugins/wptouch/core/class-cache-smash.php on line 96

Hey guys – the main thing here is to remove this plugin and all files associated with it! If you did anything to the wp-config file or htacess file in the past, remove any traces of w3 total cache from those files. Do this this carefully and make a backup of the original files first. I usually create a new folder and put them there. I always retrace my steps when it comes to WordPress.

I removed any files that the errors gave me – it will be different for some. But there is a db.php and object-cache.php files that need to go away in wp-content. Move them to your desktop and take a peek – they should only have W3 stuff in there. If so, delete them from the server (but keep backup files!) This got my site back to an almost “normal” state. Still working out the bugs.

Post what you have done so far, this is a world-wide freak of an update failure!!

    Remember – backup first!

    Completely fubared.

Logged in via ftp and renamed dir – that disabled the plugin to allow me to get back in via the admin panel.

I personally just SSH’d and used rm -rf to delete the entire directory of the plugin and all the files associated. Sites work fine now but not caching.
