• I’ve been using wordfence for the past 2 years on all of my websites (15+) and ever since the latest update all the virus scans that this plugin attempts to do are met with an error stating that my server is out of memory.

I’ve configured my server to use 256m of memory in the php.ini but wordfence still fails to scan files, even though the plugin itself says i have enough memory in its diagnostic panel.

The worse thing about this problem is that when the scans stop (Due to running out of memory) it locks your site up as the scan keeps on scanning.

If the developers manage to fix this issue then I will change this review as everything was fine before, its literally since i updated this plugin as nothing else updated.

  • Hello jonyfox,
I saw that you sent me a diagnostics report in email. I’m afraid we can’t give support in the review section. Please make a post in our WordPress support forum and we will help you as soon as we can.

I solved this problem by placing a php.ini file in the admin folder and then setting the memory limit to something higher than the amount of memory listed in the out of memory error message.
