I’m getting fatal memory errors ever since the last update to NextGen Gallery. I have to deactivate it or nothing loads on any page. None of the other solutions here match my problem. Server host says memory limits are more than adequate and permissions directory for wp-content is 755 already.

    Example page:
    pnventerprises.com/clients/alger/

    Please help, thank you.

@davidpreiser – Can you provide any more details about this “Fatal error”?

Is there a specific reference to a file and/or line? Where are you seeing the fatal memory message being displayed?

Did you check for plugin conflicts? Which specific version of NextGEN Gallery were you seeing this with (it appears you are using 2.0.40 currently)?

I’m using NextGen Pro 1.0.10 and the regular Gallery 2.0.66. It’s active now, and the error message on that page is currently:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/pnventer/public_html/wp-content/plugins/share-and-follow/create-styles.php on line 254

@davidpreiser – That message is referring to a different plugin than NextGEN Gallery and it is basically saying you have a PHP Memory Limit of 64 and it wants to allocate another 1/2MB beyond that limit.

I would suggest having your web host raise the PHP Memory limit on your site to at least 128 … and perhaps contact the author of the “share and follow” plugin to see if this is something they are aware of and working to address (if necessary after raising the memory limit).

    Thanks!

PS: You should update to latest version of NextGEN Pro as well.

Thank you. Temporarily fixed. But previous error messages mentioned NextGen, so I will have to look into all this further.

@davidpreiser – Thanks for the update. I would expect the previous message would not return and the base issue with the memory being exhausted will have been resolved with the increase you have made.
