    When I tried to “setup” the plugin, I received a message saying there was a fatal error, but no info beyond that. I checked this forum and found the suggestion to add simple ssl. I did that and now I have this. I am not a programmer, so I do not have any clue as to what I need to do or how.

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Function name must be a string
    in /home/hpridffg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ssl-zen/ssl_zen/classes/class.ssl_zen_admin.php on line 508

    Call stack:

    ssl_zen_admin::ssl_zen_hook()
    wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php:287
    WP_Hook::apply_filters()
    wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php:311
    WP_Hook::do_action()
    wp-includes/plugin.php:478
    do_action()
    wp-admin/admin.php:259

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Tamie – what host do you use? Are all your plugins and WordPress up to date? For now, I’d recommend deactivating the plugin and making sure that everything else is up to date and that you’re running the most recent version of PHP on your host server. Then try again.

    I am using Namecheap because I didn’t want to spend too much while I am learning and taking forever because of constant issues that I do not understand caused by plugins. The SSL I had on here was from Let’s encrypt, so I know it works, but when it came time to renew I could not figure out what to do.

    Most plugins are up to date besides a couple of pro versions, which I have to download then upload. I will do that today. There are plugins that I deactivated that need updating, but I am not sure if I need them. WP is current.

    Oddly, my URL reads https, but it is not registering as that when you visit.

    @tamierp I’m sorry you are facing issues with the plugin. Can you please make sure you have disabled all other SSL plugins? If you have an expired SSL certificate on your website, the plugin won’t work, you first need to delete it. After that, make sure your website is loading over HTTP. Once you do that, go to SSL Zen -> Setup and complete the process again.
