• Upgraded my site this morning and now when going to wp-admin I am getting:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_is_mobile() in /home/content/85/9218585/html/wp-admin/index.php on line 22

From earlier posts it looks like I have to delete the previous install (how?) except the content folder and then re-install WordPress.

There has to be an easier way for those of us that do not want to work with the code?

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

I have the same problem, but am unable to get into the dashboard at all. The website address is: https://www.socialmediainfusion.net

Here’s what happened – I upgraded to the new version of WP – then I got this message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_is_mobile() in /home/content/27/8359227/html/wp-admin/index.php on line 22

Not sure where the problem was I called my hosting company to see if they were experiencing problems and they were not.

I tried renaming the content and plug-in files on that end, and that did not work, so I changed them back to their original names.

I don’t know code and need aa much help as you can give me. I made the mistake of not doing a back up, but am willing to lose everything and start again if I need to in order to get the site up again.

A friend said I’d have to delete something and reload WP – how in the world does one do that?

    Thanks,
