Fatal Error with WP update

    Trying to update an old wp install to 4.3.1 via the backend updates…I get the following…

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Filesystem_Direct::connect() in /homepages/17/d309681419/htdocs/clickandbuilds/WordPress/sitename/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 829

    It will not allow me to update…so strange…first time for this…
