    After updating to version 6.6.1 my website encountered a fatal error not allowing me to access my site so I had to deactivate all my plugins. Turns out it was the woocommerce plugin and anytime I try to reactivate it I receive this error message:

    An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 47 of the file /home4/corneops/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/woocommerce.php. Error message: Uncaught Error: Class 'WooCommerce' not found in /home4/corneops/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/woocommerce.php:47
    Stack trace:
    #0 /home4/corneops/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/woocommerce.php(62): WC()
    #1 /home4/corneops/public_html/wp-settings.php(428): include_once('/home4/corneops...')
    #2 /home4/corneops/public_html/wp-config.php(97): require_once('/home4/corneops...')
    #3 /home4/corneops/public_html/wp-load.php(50): require_once('/home4/corneops...')
    #4 /home4/corneops/public_html/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php(22): require_once('/home4/corneops...')
    #5 {main}

    Not sure if I should delete the plugin and reinstall as I don’t want to lose any of my data from my store.

  • Hi @dmhink12

    I can see from the error log that the failure is coming from WooCommerce, but it could still be a conflict between WooCommerce and another plugin, or with your theme. So, if you haven’t done so yet, I recommend that you first disable all other plugins except for WooCommerce, and switch to a default theme, such as Storefront or Twenty Twenty Two.

    If the issue persists under that condition, you can go ahead and try uninstalling/reinstalling WooCommerce. It won’t delete any data from your store.
    By deactivating and deleting the plugin from WordPress, you only remove its files. Your settings, orders, products, pages, etc., will still exist in the database.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Deleting and reinstalling the plugin worked.

    Thanks for your help Berg.
