Fatal Error while auto-upgrade

I tried to do auto-upgrade using the Dashboard links of WordPress.

Got screwed – now the dashboard doesn’t allow me any access to the admin area. All I get is an error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 262144 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40716 bytes) in /home3/freedomf/public_html/wp-admin/index.php on line 13

The website is still up but I can’t add/ delete/ modify anything as I have no access to my dashboard.

I am unable to add memory using any trick in php.ini file or wp-admin/index.php file

Simply no solution found so far. Please help
