    Hello,

I am getting a fatal error when updating the plugin to version 15.8. I don’t seem to lose any website functionality or accessibility. I have seen several other posts with similar errors that point to it just being a cached file issue and I wanted to verify that this is a similar error. I have posted the automated WordPress email below:

    WordPress version 5.6.1
Current theme: Custom Theme (version 1.0) Current plugin: Yoast SEO (version 15.8) PHP version 7.3.26-1+ubuntu18.04.1+deb.sury.org+1

  • Hi @slavensracing!

It could be a caching issue or it could be the plugin is missing a file (hence the ‘not found;).

We recommend re-installing the Yoast plugin and seeing if it resolves. You can delete the plugin and then re-add it. Doing so is not expected to hurt the SEO of the site. You may then need to monitor the issue to see if the issue resolves.

Though, we do suggest taking a backup before doing so (your host provider can help with this if you are not sure).

This appears to have resolved my issue. After deleting and reinstalling the plugin I am no longer receiving any error messages. I will continue to monitor any future errors. Thank you.
