Fatal Error When Updating Plug In

  • Upon Installing update this morning:
    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare amazing_hover_effects_style() (previously declared in /home1/wilmothg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/amazing-hover-effects-pro/amazing-hover-effects-pro.php:14) in /home1/wilmothg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/amazing-hover-effects/amazing-hover-effects.php on line 16

    Was running ver. 4.3..after the error no notice of update exists so not sure what version this update was…but it did appear new in my plugins for update this morning.

    This means you are using two same function name together. Make sure you have just one plugin activated. Hope this helps

    Yes-that makes sense and assuming that update was for the free version. I discovered I still have free version. It is deactivated but I did not catch that when the update came through. I have now deleted free version since I use pro. Thanks.
