• I just updated to the latest version 2.0.0 and I am getting the following error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Please install and Activate Contact Form 7.

Contact form 7 is installed and Active on the site I tried to activate this plugin, this is a multi site install where CF7 is activated on the sites needed.

    Hello @sadesades ,
We have tested it by activating on network site with latest version. It works.
We tested it with only Contact Form 7 and Custom Validation Message for Contact Form 7.

Would you please check at your side by deactivating any plugin if it looks like conflicting then? Also you can enable debug mode in config file and check if any proper error displayed so we can get idea.

    Thanks.

It works if I activate contact form 7 using the “Network activate” for all sites this enables cf7 on all sites but we do not tend to activate like this globally since it would activate cf7 on every site loading its library on sites we do not need forms, so if we activate it on a specific site instead that is where it fails when the cf7 is activated individually on a site instead of network activate.

So if i only activate cf7 on the site I need and not the rest of the other site son my multisite install it gives that error I placed above.

I am running into the same exact issue. We are running Contact Form 7 in a multi-site installation, but not network activating it – only activating it site by site. It does not seem to work on non-networked sites.

Will there be an update to allow for that?

Note, I installed it on a non-multisite install and it works fine, except that if you put in an apostrophe (such as ‘Person’s last name is required.’), it converts the apostrophe into the html equivalent.
